Shomer - Terms of Use

Last updated: October 2, 2026
These terms apply to the Shomer app for Wix ("Shomer", "the app"), made by AK Digital (Anna Kheifets), Israel ("we", "us"). By installing or using Shomer you agree to these terms and to the Wix App Market terms.
1. The service
Shomer closes a Wix site, or pauses its checkout and bookings, during Shabbat and Jewish holidays, according to the settings chosen by the site owner. Some features require a paid plan.
2. Times and halachic decisions
Shomer calculates candle lighting and nightfall from the city you choose, using common astronomical methods (the same method used by Hebcal). Times are provided as a convenience and are not a halachic ruling. Different communities follow different customs; it is your responsibility to choose the settings that fit your practice (for example the candle lighting minutes, nightfall time and holidays) and to consult your rabbi when needed.
3. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for your site, your settings and your business. Check the schedule shown in the app, especially before holidays. Shomer depends on Wix services; if a Wix service is unavailable, Shomer may not be able to close or open the site on time. For checkout and bookings, Shomer is designed to let purchases through if it cannot reach its settings, so that a technical problem never blocks your business on a weekday.
4. Plans, payment and cancellation
Paid plans are sold and billed by Wix, including free trials, renewals, cancellations and refunds, under Wix's billing terms. When a paid plan ends, the site moves to the free plan's features.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use Shomer to mislead visitors, to break the law, or to interfere with Wix or with the app.
6. Intellectual property
Shomer and its design and code belong to AK Digital. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app on your Wix site while it is installed. Your content (texts, logos, photos) remains yours. City data: GeoNames (geonames.org), CC BY 4.0.
7. No warranty
Shomer is provided "as is". We work hard to keep the times accurate and the app reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AK Digital will not be liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost sales or lost profits arising from the use of Shomer, including a site that opened or closed at the wrong time. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Shomer in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Changes
We may update the app and these terms. If we make important changes, we will update the date above and let you know in the app. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the courts of Tel Aviv have exclusive jurisdiction.
